Music for Youth Foundation’s establishment of the Tom Freston Instrument Lending Library at Bronx House has already impacted the New York community by making instruments as easy to lend as library books. For example, Ronald Girshman, a child who could not afford an instrument, is an example of the impact the Library is already having on the New York community. His mother sent the following note of gratitude.
My name is Natalya Girshman. Ronald is my nine-year old son, who loves music and enjoys playing musical instruments. He is taking classes in Bronx House and learning to play sax.
You made this possible for us. Because of your generosity, his school was able to buy musical instruments and can lend them to underprivileged children.
I am writing to you with our deepest appreciation from the bottom of my and my son’s little heart. We wish you and your family all the best things in the world for being there for people like us.
