ARTS 2003 Finalist - Level I in Violin

Anna Katherine Barnett-Hart began playing the violin when she was three. Among her awards and honors, she won Second Place in the Jefferson Young Artists' Competition in 1999, was a winner in the Boulder International Music Festival 1999-2001 and won the Denver Young Artists Orchestra Competition in 1999 and as a result performed Violin Concerto in D major by Tchaikovsky with The Colorado Symphony Orchestra. She was selected to participate in the Viva Vivaldi! All Girl Orchestra in 2000 and 2002 and performed solo as a result at The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and appeared on CNN. She was also selected as one of 15 artists to participate in the first Starling-DeLay Symposium and works with artists such as Robert McDuffie, Itzak Perlman and has performed in Juilliard's Paul Hall. Her accomplishments in 2002 include: Second Prize in the Grand Junction Symphony Young Artists Competition, winner of Stars of Tomorrow Kiwanis Club competition and was invited to perform as a guest artist with the Valley Symphony Orchestra in Montrose, CO. She plans to study with Itzak Perlman thorugh the pre-college Juilliard program and is deferring attendance to Harvard University for one year.
